Losing My Religion

By Miko Watkins

I fell to my knees,

Worshipped you at the altar.

You were supposed to be my Savior,

And yet here I falter.

You lifted me from my pain,

You showered me with love and affection.

Then you withdrew it all, like a “Do Not Resuscitate Orderâ€,

As if nothing could cure my affliction.

You were the Northern Star

Guiding me out of darkness.

Serenity’s light that once illuminated over me,

No longer exists.

You once answered my prayers,

Gave solace to a weary heart,

Promised eternal salvation,

But now, my Faith has severed apart.

You have forsaken me,

Left me without Hope,

I am more alone now than before.

All is gone, so now how am I to cope?
